As the face shield project unfolded between Fargo Machine, Austinburg Machine and Fenton Manufacturing, a local nonprofit saw way they could provide assistance and collaborate with these business leaders. The Civic Development Corporation of Ashtabula County Board of Directors and Officers is helping further this project and defer cost, donating $4,000 to these efforts. The donation will provide materials for upwards of 1,000 shields.
Seeing so many individuals and organizations in the community doing what they can to provide care workers, front line staff, elderly and children a safe and healthy environment during this pandemic has inspired the board to act.
A motion was made and passed unanimously in record breaking time to assist with the face shield project at the board’s most recent meeting according to Amanda Tirotta, Civic Development Corporation Executive Director. “An opportunity to help the well-being of residents and collaborate with local business leaders is unique, and Larry has led this project with heart,” Tirotta said. “We are inspired by our community during this tough time. The ingenuity, compassion and positive momentum amongst Ashtabula County residents to better this situation is admirable. We are honored to be able to help many local health organizations like UH and ACMC that are protecting all of us; we want to thank them.”
The Civic Development Corporation of Ashtabula County has been enhancing lives in our county, typically with bricks and mortar projects every five years for over sixty years. Currently, they are fundraising for their 2020 Capital Campaign Projects. “Ashtabula County residents care and make effort to fill any needs one may have,” said Tirotta. “Making a difference to local residents is how this caring project made it on the radar of Civic Development Corporation.”
