The Civic Development Corporation of Ashtabula County (CDC) announces the recent resignation of Jerry Powers from its Board of Directors, effective Sept. 7, 2023. Jerry’s departure marks the end of a dedicated tenure, during which he played an integral role in the organization’s growth and community impact.
“It’s with heartfelt gratitude we accept Jerry’s resignation from the board,” said CDC president Dr. Lori Herpen. “Jerry has been a committed board member, actively participated and served on executive and project committees and his expertise and unwavering commitment significantly contributed to the successful execution of crucial capital projects in both the 2015 and 2020 CDC campaigns.”
Powers joined the organization as a board member in 2016 and was elected Vice President in 2021.
Notably, he played a pivotal role in leading the CDC employee campaigns for Vibrantz Technologies, formerly Chromaflo. His leadership and ability to mobilize support from the community was crucial in enhancing the CDC’s ability to positively impact Ashtabula County.
“On behalf of the CDC Board of Directors, the entire organization and the Ashtabula County community, we extend our deepest appreciation to Jerry for his exceptional service, leadership, and dedication to the betterment of Ashtabula County,” Herpen said. “His legacy will continue to inspire us all as we strive to uphold the CDC’s mission of fostering growth, development, and community enhancement.”
