Harbor Perk Label Contest

In efforts to engage students in philanthropic efforts and initiate civic mindedness, Civic Development Corporation of Ashtabula County (CDC) hosted a coffee label contest for Ashtabula County middle and high school students in conjunction with Harbor Perk. The contest was to design a coffee label that reflected the history and importance of CDC over the last 60 years.  The prize included having their winning label placed on Harbor Perk’s Medium Roast Coffee Bags for all to buy, two bags of their coffee to share, and their label custom framed for display. CDC is pleased to announce Kali Siembor, a talented sophomore at Pymatuning Valley, as the contest winner.

CDC Executive Director Amanda Tirotta presented Kali with a framed picture of her winning label at Harbor Perk on Tuesday, October 29th. “We are so excited to be collaborating with Harbor Perk on this project.” said Tirotta. “Kali incorporated the history, impact and importance of CDC on her label by showing characterizing our county’s beauty and family outdoor recreational activities. The need for family activities and recreation is of strong interest for our 2020 Campaign, and has been a focus of CDC in the past.”

The limited-edition “CDC and Harbor Perk 440 Roast” coffee with Kali’s label is available for purchase at Harbor Perk on Bridge Street in the Ashtabula Harbor. One dollar will be donated to YOUth LEADERship Ashtabula scholarship fund. “It’s important to CDC to support organizations that continue to better our county and strengthen our future,” added Tirotta.  “There is a great synergy between Ashtabula County non profits. YOUth LEADERShip is educating and encouraging students in our county to keep their talents here. It is great to be able to collaborate and give back to our community while looking ahead to the future  and tomorrow’s leaders.”
